ooc: the great stock revision 09

This is an effort to clean up the list, as there are several characters that are no longer in the bar who have/had horses or other creatures stabled at Milliways. I've been going under the premise that unless I've been told that the animals are gone, they're still there, no matter where their owners are.

With that said, if I could get some help with figuring out which characters on this list have been retired or deleted, it would be appreciated. I figure that if a character has been deleted, I can remove the animal in question (as long as no other muns/characters would be affected by it leaving). If the pup has been retired, I'll have to figure out what to do.


For the subject of Retired/Deleted pups:

- Doc's taken control of the Pevensie trio of horses (Duncan, Corella, and Rachat) and all the feed/care expenses he takes care of, as well as training and exercise, etc. Duncan and Rachat are also two horses that he lets people borrow if they've talked to him first. Corella is pregnant and going to foal soon, so he'd rather people not borrow/bother her on his orders.

- I know I've talked to Ashie about the pegasi (Melina and Solon, belonging to Helen and Valentine Skywalker, respectively) and have threaded Doc and Medusa talking about how she would be willing to take them to her world so they could be with their own kind.

I believe Helen (prettyhelen? is...retired? Deleted?) I can't find her or Valentine Skywalker on the cast list, so information on this would be appreciated. If nobody objects to Melina and Solon leaving the bar, then Doc will let Medusa know it's okay. I just don't want to do anything without checking first. (Have got the 'good to go' greenlight.)

- There are two chocobos (Springheel and Windfoot) that belonged once to Sabin. They have no owner and if anybody wants to take over care/ownership of them, we can easily arrange for your pup and Doc to have a thread to discuss it. :D (Mike will be taking over these, must thread it.)

- There is a beast (named Perfectly Normal, once belonged to Arthur Dent) like a cow-ish type creature that hangs out in the pasture. I'm sure Doc spoils the hell out of it. No transfer in ownership needed, it's just there.

- There is a dodo (Plock) that was owned by Liam Pace. Liam is gone, and Doc will be looking for someone to take ownership of it. If you're interested, we can work a thread out?


For the subject of Active pups:

These are all horses/stock that I know have active pups involved with them, so no worries unless I've got something wrong, here. If I do, let me know in a comment.

- Kiseki (Belongs to Amy, I know I've seen Parker riding him)
- Tequila Halo & Lime (Belonging to Mal Reynolds)

- Phoenix (Belongs to Dan Evans)
- Nova, Lionheart, Cortez (Belonging to Doc)
- Gabriel (Belongs to Ben Wade)
- Unnamed horse belonging to Billy the Kid

- Unnamed white stallion that used to be the Prince's? Whoever Coyote disposed of.
- Unnamed, well broke mare (from Sallie Reynolds and Jack Twist)
- Binky (Belongs to capslock!Death)
- Darjeeling (Belongs to Amy)
- Warglut (Belongs to Jadis)
- Pistolet (Belongs to Gavroche)

For the subject of pups I am not sure on:

These pups I haven't seen around/don't thread with/don't know enough about to tell you what is up with them. Any help with this section would be great, guys. :D I'm putting the whole entries in here, to help jog some memories? Tell me who these pups are, if they're retired/not/etc?

- Serenity, a nightmare, shadow-colored. Demon horse, needs no care nor feeding, speaks into the mind. Friend (?) of Iris. (*hunting deeetail*)

- Prancer, a mare, deep bay; true-blooded, 'thoroughbred', threaded stock. Full grown, fully-trained, belonging to Lisa. (Know the pup, not been around in long time.)

- Moondancer, a mare, white; true-blooded 'Arabian', threaded stock. Full-grown, fully-trained. Belonging to Nefret Forth. (Have sent mun a comment to ask.)

- Ravenscourt, a thestral. Full-grown, at least part-trained. Eats raw meat, grooming with cloths, no brushes. Belonging to Barty Crouch. (Have sent PM to mun.)




It is entirely possible I have screwed this up in some way...or I'm just missing information. If you have any information about any of the pups in the 'unsure' section or just heck, in general if you want to flail at me, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT so that I can rewrite the stock list and make it neat and organized.

I know Valentine's player; Val is pretty much retired, and if the mun ever does come back, she's said she'd probably reboot the character to canon anyway. So far as I know, the pegasi leaving the bar would not be a problem.

And yes, Binky belongs to capslock Death.

Cluaran is Námo's, but he was retired about two years ago. :) Cluaran went with Námo when he relocated to another world with Gorlim, so she can be removed from the stable record.

Jah-Lila and Sleipnir were both played characters, so far as I recall. You'd have to check the cast list to see if they're still around... Neysa I don't recall.

Gorlim may also be retired...? Or at least non active, hasn't been around in ages. He was from Lord of the Rings canon, if that might help you find his journal and player. Namo of the Valar was also from this canon, and they hung around together, I think.

Amy is the Princess of...uh. Ambersomething. She's still around, and her canon is The Ordinary Princess, I believe.

Iris I think was the rainbow goddess of Greek mythology? She's likely retired if not deleted.

Shane belongs/ed to Ro, if I recall correctly. She plays Ace and Robin Hood and Glorfindel, etc.

I may be wrong on some of these, but that might help a little. CAN YOU TELL I'M BORED AT WORK?

Gorlim was semi-retired when Námo was fully retired. Ven never fully retires any of her puppets. ^_^ I don't think Gorlim comes into the bar anymore, so I'm sure you could safely remove Rofal from the record. If Cluaran went with Námo, then Rofal went with Gorlim. :)

Okay, let me see what I've got...

Here is the first stable "stockline record," as kept by Susan Delgado (sai_delgado). She turned it over to Caspian when she left for the clearing, at which time she bequeathed Kiseki (means "miracle" in Japanese, named by Anthy) to Amy. (And just for fun, here's the record of who was working in the stable at that time, right before Caspian took over!)

Serenity: Um. I thiiiiiink the 'friend Iris' in this case was actually the sorceress of Xanth (iris_attitude), and has not been around in ages and ages (since 2005). I can't even find the thread where Iris introduced Serenity and she took up residence in the stables, sorry...

Ghost: Here is his arrival! The pup was Alex of Tirragen, from the same canon as Alanna of Trebond. Player has left the game long long ago, I think; for the life of me I can't remember the character's journal to check. I can point you at the mun LJ if you want to follow up?

Prancer: Belonged to Lisa Atwood, from the Saddle Club series. Lisa once worked in the stables, as well. Character journal was logical_prancer; character's still in the cast list, but I haven't seen the player in FOREVER. She also played Neysa the Unicorn (horsecolored), I believe.

Sleipnir: Check with Star, who plays Wellard, among others. She also plays/played Svava, and Sleipnir is from that canon; I believe Star played him too.

Moondancer: Nefret Forth was played by Rue, who has left the game insofar as I know... I can point you at her mun LJ if you want to try to follow up?

Ravenscourt: I don't know if Barty's retired or not. I can help you find contact info for the mun if you want to follow up?

Warglut: Belongs to Jadis (whitest_witch), still played infrequently by Corchen, I think?

Pistolet: Belongs to Gavroche, and Kate (avariel_wings) is the mun to contact there.

I generally say as long as a character has talked to Doc and Doc feels confident that the rider isn't going to end up killing themselves or hurting the horse, then it's a go. That's what he tends to let Rachat and Duncan be used for.

We could thread that 'permission', or just handwave it, since Kirk and Doc have met before and Doc would trust him. :D

Serenity: BTW, all the way down in the thread of Ghost's arrival is more information about Serenity. She IS from Xanth canon, so it would be the sorceress Iris and not the rainbow one; Serenity is for "Mare Serenitatis," and she's a Night Mare from that canon. There's even a description...

Ghost: I believe the mun lj is rebootfromstart.

Moondancer: Mun LJ is metaphor.

Ravenscourt: (Barty bartyjr) is/was/is played by malachan.

Amy is the Queen of Ambergeldar, which isn't that hard to spell. :) She's around, though a lot less frequently than she used to be.

And both Kiseki and Darjeeling are hers, though Parker Lee (who is played by Joan) has Amy's permission to ride Kiseki whenever she'd like.

She is also the person who left the stockline record for Doc with Bar, having been asked by Caspian (her adopted brother) to deliver the things he left for people. If she can help with anything, IC, she and I are happy to try. (We neither of us make any promises about actually being able to.)

Killer, for what it's worth, was a pink My Little Pony that Death gave to Amy and that she gave to Caspian. I am farily certain he was named by Lilly Kake. And then he was entered into the record by Susan as a joke.

And he is, as correctly noted, no longer in the Milliways stables. Caspian left him to Amy's daughter, Susan, and he is, therefore in Ambergeldar, where he will one day confuse historians trying to figure out how a bright pink plastic horse wound up in medieval fairy tale Europe.

I don't know whether retired or deleted or just inactive, but Helen of Troy hasn't been around for a very long time, and when the mun disappeared from the game (it took me weeks and weeks to track her down) when I eventually managed to get in touch with her she was pretty definite that Helen wasn't coming back, because we had to engineer the breakup over email. I certainly haven't seen her in much/at all since she and Guppy broke up in 2006.

I probably have her contact details around somewhere still, if you need more confirmation.

If it was that definite of an answer, than I don't see a problem in going ahead with the Medusa plan. If there is down the road, then, meh. We'll deal with it then.
