It's awkward to get himself stretched out on the bed when his right arm is basically dead weight at his side; with Bones' assistance, he manages to get himself into a position where the man can work on the injury and Doc can focus his attention on staying awake rather than staying upright.

"Just let m'know what you need me t'do," he says. With the pressure off his midsection, he makes an effort to relax and slow his breathing down some, knowing it will make Bones' job easier. (Maybe. The fracture is a nasty one, after all.)
