Back in New York City, an outlaw is captured.

Thankfully, when thrown into a pit, one sometimes ends up where they don't expect. Doc gets help from Asyr, Will gets upset at the sight of his friend in irons and with a noose, and he's also helped out by Sharpe and Red.

After reading the paper he teaches Will how to shoot somewhat and also talks Colts with someone. (The gun, not the horse.)

Then the great genderswap happens and Doc also talks to Jackie Bauer.

After getting turned back into a man, Doc plots escape from the inescapable with Kim Ford and meets Spoon and his puppies and they talk as well.

The next night while contemplating things by the window, he and Spoon again discuss escape plans. Later he gets help in the stables.

The door is still there. Doc has been avoiding it, until now. What he hears on the other side doesn't make him happy. The next morning he talks to Will about Sherwood and Lincoln.

But before anyone can stop him, he goes home. And immediately wonders if it was a bad idea. Thankfully, Billy doesn't listen and he and Will come riding to the rescue. Doc contemplates what this all means and isn't happy. That frustration is still around when Doc comes back and talks to Will as well as meets Tom Riddle.

A few days later, Doc voices his concern for his family to Jack. He also talks with Will about swordfighting and does some work regarding the stockline record for the stables.

He also gets lessons from Will and also 'spars' with the best swordscat in the universe. Later while trying to write a letter to Yen, he and Will talk strategy.

Then he meets Jed out near the stables.

When something else fun happens, he ends up turned into a prairie dog. And nearly eaten by a falcon, goes oooooh at some shiny, protected by a bunny and meets something that can't eat him. And then meets Jack, who is a lion and thankfully doesn't eat him. Bar helps by providing an outfit and then he's changed back, thankfully.

To start, Doc goes back to Sherwood to help Will and the men fight the Sheriff and get the tax. Doc's also better with a gun than he is a sword, but he and Will manage to make it back to the bar all right.

A few days later, Doc gets his leg checked out by Guppy and spends some time relaxing.

When Will's birthday rolls around it's time for a huge party. Things are going well, because soon, a certain pirate returns.

Then it's time for Halloween at Millways, and Doc gets turned into Poe's Raven, and admires a cape, attends the Life Support, destroys a very red hat, talks to Jack who wins points by buying him a shot. The next morning, he wakes up in the rafters.

That Saturday, Doc bartends. And also meets...well, someone. And an old friend.

Something, be it anger or pride, snaps and then Doc comes to realize what he's done. The next day is better, with Happy Hour and meeting someone, Marc St. James, who thinks outlaws are the coolest things ever. He talks dinosaurs with Lord John Roxton and shares birthday cupcakes with Ginny.

Later he writes letters to Yen, talks to Will about nightmares and sleep and gets caught singing which leads to discussions with a few other patrons.

He meets a man from a land of snow and vampires, goes to Life Support again, and talks to Angela.

Then later, he plays I-Spy with Santi, talks to Teja about forge work...meets some crocodiles.

Finally, it's time to go home. And going home means that a new boy joins the gang and some men stay the same. So do some towns.

When he gets back, it's not where he expected. He talks to Sharpe about ships, and meets Ironhide, who can't get Hawaiian style pizza to make sense.
